Recently, my friend from high school got married. She was having a red, white, and blue, nautical-themed wedding and I knew that I had to make her something personal for the occasion. This picture frame matches her wedding and commemorates the event.
Supplies:
- Wood picture frame
- Wood anchor cutout
- White acrylic craft paint
- Blue acrylic craft paint
- Silver acrylic craft paint
- Red polka dot ribbon
- Masking tape
First, I gave the picture frame a base coat of white. While that was drying, I painted the anchor silver.
Then use the masking tape to mark even horizontal stripes across the frame. Paint these stripes with the blue paint. Let dry, then remove tape.
Attach the silver anchor to the bottom corner.
To add an extra special touch, I printed off the names of the happy couple and their wedding date. However, it still needed something…red, polka dot ribbon! I edged the text with it and topped the anchor with a bow. Isn’t it just darling?!
To wrap it, I used plain craft paper and wrapped it repeatedly with baker’s twine to incorporate the red color. I also had an extra anchor cutout that I tied to the ends of the twine.
I hope you feel inspired to create personalized frames for your friends and family. Whether it’s nautical, boho, preppy, or chic, you can customize these frames to fit any style.
