These are a few of

my favorite things…

YouTube Setup

I try to keep things simple when I’m filming so that I can start new shots quickly.

This is a lean setup that can still get the job done.

My Camera

I really, really love this camera. My favorite is the white balance button. Just select that, hold up something white in the viewfinder, and you have instant color balance! Makes switching from natural light to overhead light super simple. Also, the built-in microphone is really good and I haven’t yet needed to upgrade to a separate microphone.

Overhead Tripod

For any of the overhead shots of my artwork, I use a trick that I picked up from a fellow artist. The microphone stand has an arm that can easily extend over my work area. An adapter fits on the top so that it can hold my camera or phone. I wouldn’t recommend this for any of the bulkier cameras.

My Tripod

I bought this tripod years ago and I’ve used it for everything. I have a smart phone adapter so that I can shoot quick social videos. It folds to a relatively small size and is adjustable to accomodate almost every angle.

Overhead Tripod Adapter

This is the adapter that allows me to attach my camera to the microphone stand. It was almost as expensive as the stand itself, but well worth it. Just attach to the top and it works like any other camera mount. However, I would not recommend this for anything heavier than the Lumix LX-10.

Extra Batteries

I always have all three batteries charged and ready to go before I start filming. That way, I can always have one ready, one in the camera, and one charging. Three seems to be the right number to be able to continuously film.

My Memory Card

After my first memory card was unfortunately eaten by the dog (long story), I upgraded to this one. 512 GB ensures that you never run out of space and you can keep the card as a backup for your footage, instead of having to clean it out for the next project.
