Artist Statement

My paintings are where celebrations of color, playful storytelling, femininity, and a little bit of vintage flair all shake hands. (Or maybe they do the twist—1950s style.) Working in acrylic and mixed media, I create layered, painterly portraits of women, often with unexpected elements that spark curiosity.

My primary focus is on female portraiture, still lifes, and abstract pieces, each infused with a sense of contemplation and warmth. A mid-century color palette? A citrusy pop? A pun snuck into the title? You bet. My love of wordplay (thanks to my English degree) sneaks into my art, just like my love for all things bright, bold, and joyful.

I’m drawn to the everyday—capturing quiet, contemplative moments and pairing them with something delightfully offbeat. I gravitate towards pinks and rich, expressive hues that evoke emotion and depth.

My work is a mix of nostalgia and modern vibrancy, where pink reigns supreme and femininity is celebrated in all its layers (literally—I love layering paint). My layered approach allows each piece to evolve organically, reflecting the complexity of human experience and the quiet moments that shape our days.

Whether it’s a portrait infused with whimsy or a still life with a twist, my goal is to bring a little color, joy, and unexpected fun into the world.
